What is garment dyeing?

We like it when our garments have a story to tell. A journey that makes them special and unique thanks to a controlled, transparent, and ‘special’ supply chain.
Our Dyepop models in fact originate from a different supply chain than the traditional one, read on to find out more.

This is exactly the inspiration behind our Dyepop styles. The secret is in our unique dyeing process to obtain a garment with a ‘worn’ and matt appearance, unique for your wardrobe. Our Dyepop styles are not created using standard production methods: each garment is first made from unbleached fabric and then dyed as a garment.

This process is called ‘garment dyeing’.

A sustainable solution

Not only does this process save water when dyeing, but also saves dyeing in a controlled manner, as it only dyes those garments and does not dye fabric or yarn that might remain unused. A sustainable solution compared to the traditional process of fabric dyeing, cutting, and tailoring, which on average wastes 15% of the dyed fabric, also known as deadstock, to be recycled or thrown away. An advantage for the customer with this garment-dyeing process is that the garments are already pre-dyed and therefore will not suffer any color loss or shrinkage during the first washings.

Our Dyepop styles

The garment-dyeing technique makes the appearance of the two Dyepop styles more "dusted" and opaque in terms of style and lends sustainability and transparency to the process thanks to enormous water savings.
