What is pilling and how to remove it
A MONOBI cashmere garment is made to last forever. Thanks to the exceptional quality of carefully selected cashmere fibers and its classic, timeless design, MONOBI cashmere pieces are durable and versatile.
Cashmere fiber
Cashmere is a highly prized and delicate textile fiber. It is obtained by brushing the fleece of cashmere goats raised in the regions of Mongolia and China. This fiber is distinguished by its incredible softness and sheen compared to other wools.
The Pilling Phenomenon
Often, small balls of fiber (pills) form on the surface of our cashmere or wool garments due to the twisting of the fibers. This is a normal occurrence, especially with winter garments made from natural fibers. Technically, this is referred to as the fiber's tendency to felt, an intrinsic characteristic of cashmere. However, it is a phenomenon that can be managed.
Our Solution: The PILLING KNITWEAR COMB
For the daily care of your cashmere garments, MONOBI has designed and created its own pilling remover comb. Made from natural wood, the comb features fine steel blades that, when gently passed over the surface of your cashmere or wool garments, effortlessly remove pilling, restoring your pieces to their original condition.
The comb is suitable for daily use and works best when paired with proper care during washing and drying.
